- Murphy beds: these beds are named after William Murphy who was the founder of these kinds of beds. Murphy beds can be folded on to the wall during day and it can be used as regular bed at night. These beds save space even more than futon beds. They are very apt for places where there is space constraint. The types of beds under Murphy beds are- panel and bi-fold.
