Furniture Placement becomes very important criteria while decorating your bedroom. You would start with the larger furniture. With that said, where would the Bed fit ?

A natural choice would be — Length of the bed would be parallel to the longest side of the wall in your room. You would want to place Bed in the center of your room. Make sure you have sufficient room around the four sides of the bed, so that it becomes easy to change the mattresses. Next you would want to place the side tables either side of bed. Side tables with a good table space can also hold night lamps. You may think of placing the entertainment center aligned to opposite wall facing the bed. A TV, Audio system,  DVD can easily fit and can be a a good recreation as you relax.  You can have wall mounted book shelve side of entertainment center. A study table can easily fit under the book shelve. You can have a ceiling lighting or wall mounted lighting with dimmers by side of you bed. You can place nice landscape photos on the side walls that would add elegance to your bedroom.
